The Weekly Recap: Good Books and Dead Fish (Week of 10/16/16)

This week I'm linking up The Sunday Post, and Stacking the Shelves.

-MY LIFE-
I must say, this was a very eventful wee for me! So, I'll try to get through everything as quick as I can. Last Sunday I found Stewart, one of my beta fish, on the ground (outside of his bowl=no breathing). Good news, he was still alive! So he got plopped back into his bowl. Bad news, he died that night. This is the second fish that has jumped out of their bowl, so safety measures have been taken, and hopefully this won't happen again. Oh, and I also got another beta fish. His name is Devi. Someone asked me if that's short for Devin, and I had to inform them that they were mistaken. Devi is short for Devil. What else would it be?

I also got a very exciting email from one of my favorite authors this week! So, be on the lookout for reviews of books written by India R. Adams. Saturday was also Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon, and for that I read Blue Waters, and I'm hoping to get another novella fit in there. I guess that's all I have for this week. So, have a fabulous week everybody!

  1. Aw, sorry to hear about your fish! That would be a shock seeing them on the floor.

I love the look of the Goddess novella.

  2. Devi is a pretty fish! We had a tank that the fish liked to jump out of once, nothing seemed to stop them though :-/

    1. Ya, I put screens/nets over their bowls hoping that if they do jump they'll hit the screen and land back in the water. So, hopefully it works!

  4. Sorry your fish have been jumping out of the bowl and hope your new measures means you no longer have to deal with this problem. I have also just acquired Freeks, so I'll be very interested to find out what you make of it:). Have a good week and take care.

  5. I swear fish have not gotten the memo that exploring outside their bowl is not a good thing. I'm sorry to hear about Stewart, but happy that Devi won't be exploring. I hope you have a great week!

  7. Oh, definitely a busy week for you. Not so exciting re the fish, but exciting to get an email from your fave author!!!

I saw everyone participating in the read-a-thon and meant to cheer you all on, but promptly forgot about it. I blame the time difference here in Australia cos I was probably sleeping! ;-)

    1. It was good! It was only a novella, so it took me a grand total of an hour to read. :)

  9. I used to have a several aquariums and even had a beta. I don't any more...just don't make the time for them. They are very relaxing to watch.

  10. Aha 'Devi', I love that. Also, the book 'Freeks' looks really cool, and it's by Amanda Hocking! I hadn't realised that she was publishing more books, I think I'll go and check it out.
