The Weekly Recap: I Want Carbs (Week of 6/11/17)

Happy Sunday! I'm linking up to The Sunday Post, hosted by The Caffienated Book Reviewer, and Book Photo Sundays, hosted by Rabbit Ears Book Blog.

-MY LIFE-
Hello everybody! Can you believe that I'm not writing this post at two in the morning? Because I'm a little surprised myself. COYER started Friday, and I was planning on getting a lot read, but a headache sent me to bed early. It was completely gone when I woke up though, so I'm hoping to get some reading done tonight. I'm ready for this reading slump to goooooooo awwayyyyy.

Oh, and I'm starting a new diet, not to lose weight, but to hopefully help with some of the health problems. One problem, the majority of people can't do this diet because it is extremely restrictive. Grains? Not allowed. Flour? Better be almond flour. Sugar? Throw it in a wood chipper. Dairy? You may have three types. Packaged foods? 99% of the time, no. Meat? Sure! Eat all of the animal carcass that you want. There are also a ton of other foods that you're not allowed to eat. This is just the tip of the  iceberg. So, I'm a vegetarian. And the only things that I've had to eat this week are eggs, fruit, vegetables, and diet soda. I miss bread. I'm seeing someone on Monday who will help me find more foods to eat (and find ways to get more carbs/protein/nutrients because I am naturally deficient in them), but until then, wish me luck.

I severely neglected Bookstagram this week, and for that I apologize. I didn't have a lot of energy, and I had to use what energy I did have wisely. So, I'm hoping to get more posted this week. Along with no photos, I didn't read a single thing. Nothing. I. Just. Sat. At. Home. All. Day. So, this week will be productive, I say. Productive! I guess that's it for me. Have a good week, happy reading, and eat some pasta for me!

What is your favorite way to make eggs. I'm desperate, and need new ideas. Let me know in the comments, and have a good week! :)

  1. Ooh that diet would kill me lol. I have to have bread. And I know sugar is evil but I need a soda once in a while. Good luck though, if you're a vegetarian you're already doing better than me!

    Hope ACoWaR is going well.

Eggs. I usually have them scrambled or sunny side up but to be honest I like 'em best in omelettes, preferably with something spicy. I love how many different ways you can do omelettes!

    1. Ya, I mainly just have them scrambled with a little bit of cheddar cheese (which is luckily allowed!). Thanks for stopping by! :)

  3. It's hard to cut out grains. I hope your doctor can help you figure out a nice balance for your diet so you can get healthy. I am talking to a doctor this week about diets and things but it's for weight loss and to be healthier as I need to lose a person. :)

    Have a great week!

    1. Good luck! Well, I've already lost weight, and I've been doing this for...a week now? Hopefully I don't loose too much more. Good luck with the appointment! :)

  4. My bookstagram has been utterly neglected too! I love eggs and my favorite way to eat them is over medium. But.. I miss bread terribly too! Hope you get over your reading slump soon! Good luck with your dieting!

  5. A lot of beans are a good source of protein. I hope the reading slump passes soon. That can be so hard. The Summer I Turned Pretty has me curious.

    1. Ya, I'm going to be experimenting with black beans tonight, so hopefully that goes well. Thanks for stopping by! :)

  6. Oof, I've been on that diet. Or on a similar one. I was also a vegetarian, but then my weight dropped to 100 pounds (I'm not kidding) and I had to start eating meat, because dang. It was quite tough :( so hang in there! Legumes will be your savior. Also put cinammon in plain yogurt (if you can do yogurt). After you come off sugar, cinammon will basically taste sugary sweet :D
This diet was bad for my health otherwise (the weight problem, as I was already almost underweight when I needed to go on it), but it dimished my headhaches so much! (I also had to quit tea and coffee for it, so that added, I guess). So much strength to you on this one, but in America there are wayyyyy more things to buy than where I live for this kind of diet, so I think you'll be okay :) you'll need your strength either way, so I wish you some.. good devotion to this :D

    1. Why thank you! I've become more optimistic about the whole thing after discovering an entire website that makes recipes for the diet I'm on. Tonight I'm trying "Mexican Black Bean Soup," so that's very exciting. I have been watching my weight closely though, and I'm hoping that I don't loose too much. Thanks for the advice! :)

  7. What a restrictive diet! At least you can have eggs, so you're not vegan...LOL.

I love omelettes, but usually I scramble the eggs.

I'm curious about The Next Together.

Enjoy your week, and thanks for visiting my blog.

  9. Sounds like a Paleo or Whole 30 diet? It's tough if your vegetarian! Yikes. Glad you are getting help with that. I did a paleo diet for a year and felt amazing. Lost a lot of weight. A bit too much, actually. I like to have a little cushion! Anyway, 2 years later and eating "normal" again and it's back on lol

    1. Ya, it's kind of like that. Though, it is getting a bit easier I think. Apparently the first 3-4 weeks are super hard, but that it gets a lot easier after that.

  10. Eep. I'm so behind on the blogging again! Sorry it's taken me over a week to get back to you!

Sorry to hear about your reading slump :( I hope it's over!

Good luck with the diet and I hope that it resolves things for you. It sounds tough!

I hope you enjoy ACOWAR - it's one of my favourite series lately. Sorry about my super late visit back to your blog again but thanks for stopping by last week's round up post!
