-MY LIFE-
Hello everybody! It's only a week and three days until I leave to visit my brother! I feel like time is moving faster than it usually is, or maybe it's just me. #COYER Blackout starts this week, and I'm hoping that I have enough books to keep me tied over until it ends. On Tuesday I have to go to the DMV, which is always fun (said no one ever). The one in my area moved to a new building, so it will be interesting to see the new building. So, my toilet has clogged 3 times in the last three months (always conveniently when I get my period), so I decided to take drastic measures. My mom a I went to Home Depot and got a six foot toilet auger. Basically it's this tool that sends a coil down the toilet line, and clears whatever is causing the plug. So, my Mom and I jump in after reading the basic instructions, and it's apparently a lot harder to use than we thought. (a) This thing is huge. It took both my Mom and I to use it. (b) This thing is tough to use. So, my Mom stuck it into the toilet, and starts twisting the handle to get the coil into the line. Okay, easy enough. Three feet are in the toilet, but we can't figure out how to get the other three feet in. We watch a quick YouTude video, and figure it out. Six feet in, complete. Well, the auger had decided that it liked being in the toilet, and moved it. That's right, the auger was stuck in the toilet. I remember my Mom and I just standing in the bathroom, looking at this auger sticking out of the toilet. My Mom muttering about how stupid this thing is, and my Googling "How to get a toilet auger that's stuck in the toilet out of the toilet." Then, trying to get the auger out of the toilet, it broke. The fucking auger broke in the toilet. So, now there's a bit of coil sticking out the the toilet, and that's it. My Mom sticks a couple of washcloths in the toilet, and just starts pulling the coil out of the toilet. My Mom is amazing. So, the toilet is still plugged. So naturally, my Mom and I do the whole thing all over again. The second time went a lot smoother, and the toilet is now working again. In the end, my Mom and I sat crying in the bathroom from laughter, because of how hard that was. Someone's going to come look at it, because something is defiantly wrong with it, but at least it works again. Have a good week everybody! :)

  1. Oh my gosh I am laughing my ass off right now, I'm sorry. that whole thing... "The fucking auger broke in the toilet" seriously. I give you guys credit for doing it again, I might have walked away lol. And I didn't actually read your title of your post til after I read it, that made me laugh again. Classic.

Anyway, sorry. Hope the reads are good. I liked True Love Gave to Me, thought it was a pretty good anthology, and Glass sword looks awesome. Hope you have a good (auger free) week.

  2. Man, I hate it when the toilet clogs up! It's so hard to get the water to go down again! Things are going pretty well for us so far in December. No Holiday craziness or anything like that, which is a good thing!

  3. Okay, I shouldn't laugh - but your toilet (mis)adventures are hilarious. Terrifying but also hilarious.

I hope you're enjoying your books this week. I've read Glass Sword but was a bit disappointed to be honest, and The Siren is on my TBR. :)

    Have a great week!

  4. That toilet story is so hilarious, but not when it's happening to you! I can unclog with a plunger....but anything more serious, I call the management. The main reason I am still renting. I had planned to buy something after I sold my house...but that old 2008 thing happened...and I didn't trust the market.

Good luck with finding the solution!

I'm thinking I need to read My True Love Gave to Me...something to get me into the holiday mood...the Hallmark movies are just making me sick. LOL.

    Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

    1. Ya, My True Love is the only holiday book/stories that I'm planning on reading. The only other one that I've read was a horror/thriller. I'm not really that into Christmas stories. :)

  5. Your mom is a trooper! I hope you give her lots of hugs. I love your IG photo. Things are pretty calm here. There are no small children in the family right now, so besides filling a stocking for my son and buying candy for my mother, the rest of my shopping is gift cards. Ha ha! Have a wonderful week.

  7. The toilet thing was hilarious! XD Kudos to you and your mom. And how do you like glass sword so far? It was so boring, I DNFed it after reading like 70 pages? Hope your experience is better....

    1. It's been a little bit since I last picked it up, but I'm liking it! I think it's because I went into it with low expectations. :)

  9. OMG Anna! I'm howling with laughter at your toilet adventures with your mom!!! We have one of our toilets that gets plugged every now and then, too... and our problem is actually inside the house :( Like, the pipe that's inside of our floor before it gets outside... *sighs* the plumber now knows why I'm calling them...
I look forward to COYER starting - and I just know I have more than enough books to read *laughs* as if I'd ever run out of cheap or free books...
Good luck with COYER! Have a wonderful week and happy reading.

    1. Ya, I'm thinking that it's a piping problem for me as well. Something I can't fix myself. I'm planning on getting someone to look at it within the next couple of weeks.
