2018 Challenge Sign Ups

Last year I signed up for a bunch of challenges, and I was super excited to finish all of them! But then I horribly failed and 2017 is the year we don't talk about and hahahahahahahahah oops.

I want to do challenges in 2018, but this time I'm going to set my expectations a bit lower. Sound okay? I'm doing four challenges in 2018: the 2018 Discussion Challenge, the 2018 Beat the Backlist challenge, the Commenting 365 Challenge, and the Goodreads Reading Challenge.

I'm actually really excited for this challenge! I feel like I'm always talking about how I should write more discussion posts, and so I'm really going to try to in 2018. I'm hoping to post one bookish discussion post, and one post for my new series Chronically Awesome (though, my posts for Chronically Awesome won't count for this challenge, booooooooo) a month. I will be aiming to be a Creative Conversationalist, which is 11-20 bookish discussion posts in 2018. If I'm good, I will be sitting comfortably at twelve if I do one a month, so that's what I'm going to aim for.

If you don't know, I'm horrible about reading books when they first come out. Like, so bad that you don't even want to know. So, this challenge is perfect for me! Basically, the goal of this challenge is to read books that were released before 2018 (so, 2017 and back). You set your own goal, and you read at your own pace. Since I mostly read "backlist" books, I'm setting my goal at 45. I read around 44 backlist books this year, so I'm thinking that 45 is a reasonable goal. Oh, I'm also going to be doing the Instagram challenge, and joining a team! I don't know what team I'll be on yet, but I'll mention it in my next Weekly Recap so that everyone can see. :) Oh, I'm also going to be keeping track of all the books that I read HERE on this Goodreads bookshelf.

So, this one isn't really about books, it's about spreading the comment love! Basically, the goal of this challenge is to comment on 365 different blogs by the end of 2018. It'll be a challenge, but I think that I can do it (well, hopefully).

I'm also doing the Goodreads Reading Challenge! I'm not sure what my goal is going to be. I'm actually thinking about doing one of those random number generators to pick my goal, it's easier. lol

So, that's my plan for 2018! Are you trying any challenges? Let me know in the comments. :)

  1. I think your achievement in reading 44 backlist books is impressive - and I think your target of commenting at 365 different blogs is truly ambitious. Good luck!
