Synopsis: What if the world's worst serial killer...was your dad?

Jasper "Jazz" Dent is a likable teenager. A charmer, one might say.

But he's also the son of the world's most infamous serial killer, and for Dear Old Dad, Take Your Son to Work Day was year-round. Jazz has witnessed crime scenes the way cops wish they could—from the criminal's point of view.

And now bodies are piling up in Lobo's Nod.

In an effort to clear his name, Jazz joins the police in a hunt for a new serial killer. But Jazz has a secret—could he be more like his father than anyone knows?

-MY REVIEW-
Okay, this was really good! It wasn't as good as I thought that it was going to be, but it was still really good. I went into this book expecting a lot, and that's just the threat of reading hyped up books. It happens, but I'm not going to let that take away from my enjoyment of the book.

In this book we follow Jazz, who is the son of the world's worst serial killer. He was trained from a young age to become a serial killer. Jazz is a teenager in the story, and his father has been locked up in prison for four years, but then bodies replicating his father's kills start showing up. So Jazz uses his knowledge to try and catch the killer.

I really liked Jazz! He was really dark, and he wasn't your usual YA character. I thought that it was really interesting to read about his struggles, and I cannot wait to see what he has to overcome in book two. My favorite character has to be Howie though. He was so snarky, and funny, and he brought some humor to a fairly dark story.

While the starry lagged a bit in the beginning, the story certainly picked up once the murders started. It was cool to see Jazz chase after the guy because he was really the only person who could catch him. And make no mistake, Jazz defiantly messed up a couple times, but that only made him seem more human to me.

So overall, I really liked this book! While the book could drag at certain points, Jazz's unique character kept be engaged the whole time. With fun side characters, and a interesting mystery, this should defiantly be on your TBR piles.

  1. Sounds like something I would like and I am glad you enjoyed it. I try not to let the hype of a book get to me but it does some times. :) Great review!
