The Weekly Recap: New Doctors, New Me (Week of 3/4/18)

I'm linking up with Kimberly who blogs at The Caffeinated Book Reviewer for The Sunday Post. The Sunday Post is a weekly meme where all us bloggers talk about out week in reading, what books we got, and what's coming up in the week ahead. I'm also linking up with Book Photo Sundays hosted by Rabbit Ears Book Blog, a weekly meme where we share our favorite photos of the week.

My Life
What do you call a student who hasn't read anything in a couple weeks and just switched all of her doctors to a hospital that's between two and five hours away depending on traffic? Anna. You call her Anna. I have had a really, really, really, REALLY crappy past couple weeks. And it started with my dermatologist telling me that I should try a new medicine, but to consult with my GI. He told me that he would probably want the GI to prescribe it. I went and saw my GI. My GI dropped me off of my old medication, and refused to write me any other medicine. And quite honestly, I'm so fucking done with her.

I'm now seeing the majority of my doctors at a teaching hospital where all the doctors are very competent. I've seen two so far and all looks promising. It's kind of nice actually. If I tell them I'm in pain, they order tests to figure out why instead of telling me that I'm just depressed.

So, I've basically read nothing. When not traveling to doctors appointments I was working, or doing something else of the sort. I'm hoping to get a lot posted this month though, especially considering that I didn't get my two discussion posts up last month. So, ladies in gents, have a good week, happy reading, and go do something fun! :)

Currently Reading
Not currently reading anything. Let's see if I can change that this week. :)

What I Read
Nothing. :(

Books I Have Acquired
The Wicker KingEvery Last WordAn Ember in the Ashes (An Ember in the Ashes, #1)
I did get a few books! I got The Wicker King from the library, which is a psychological YA thriller. It sounds pretty interesting, so I'm hoping that I'll be able to read it. Then I made a happy little stop at Barnes & Noble to get Every Last Word, and An Ember in the Ashes (I can't be the only one who loves the redesign of the covers, am I?).

Posts You Might Have Missed

What's Happening This Week?
No clue! It'll be a surprise for both of us. :)

Song Of The Week
Sickick released the music video for Mind Games a couple days ago, and it's awesome. For some reason I couldn't embed the actual music video, but I do have the audio for your listening pleasure. :)

Before You Go...

Question Of The Week
Would you rather be a lion, a tiger, or a bear? Let me know in the comments. :)

Comments

  1. I definitely like that Ember in the Ashes cover better. That's the first time I've seen that one. and yay for new doctors!

I think I'd rather be a lion? They seem stable and more or less at the top of the food chain, which is good, and they lay around a lot lol. Tigers would be cool but they're endangered? Although bears hibernate... which is a plus. but yeah... lions. :)

  2. Oh gosh. I'm so glad you switched doctors! Cold and unfeeling doctors is why I stick with my illnesses for as long as I can bear before I absolutely have to go to them, cause the mental damage they do sometimes costs more than the actual pain. I hope your new hospital is much better than the old one!

  3. Embers in the Ash has such a fantastic cover. Good for you for making a switch and finding doctors who will at least investigate before diagnosing you!

  6. I need to read Ember in the Ashes still yet another book and series I have to get to at some point. I think I'll go with tiger. Typically I'd say wolf but that's not an option so I'll go with tiger preferably the white bengel tiger cause they're black and white and they look cool haha. Hope you have a better week :)

  8. That sucks about all the medical appointments, hope things pick up soon!
I have no idea what the original Ember in the Ashes cover looked like but I really like the current design.

  9. It's nice you find some doctor's who will actually listen and address your concerns. And you have some lovely new reads.
I think I'd like to be a bear. They live all over the world aren't as endangered as lions and tigers are.

  10. Sorry about the doctor problems. That sounds annoying. I hope you enjoy your new books! I think I’d want to be a bear. They’re not big targets of trophy hunters, and they get to sleep all winter.

  11. I am so sorry, Anna - I've fallen behind with my emails this week, so have only now got to reading your weekly roundup. What a horrible, horrible week! I hope that the doctors will now be able to get you more effective treatments. No wonder you haven't read anything... I'm fervently hoping this coming week is MUCH better. Hugsx
