The Weekly Recap: A Week of Romance (Week of 7/16/17)

Happy Sunday! I'm linking up to The Sunday Post, hosted by The Caffienated Book Reviewer, and Book Photo Sundays, hosted by Rabbit Ears Book Blog.

-MY LIFE-
Hi, guys! How was your week? Was it okay? I'm happy to announce I had a very uneventful week. I literally just stayed at home all week. But because of this, though, I got quite a bit read, which is nice. More on that below. Oh, and the readathon for the Goodreads group that I MOD for started! If you would like, you are totally welcome to join us. Here is a link to the group. So, I really don't have much else to gossip to y'all about. So, take care, have a good week, and enjoy your books! :)

-WHAT I READ-
Meet Me Under the StarsAlex, ApproximatelyNever Too Far (Too Far, #2)
I started off the week late, but picked up Meet Me Under the Stars on Monday evening. I finished reading it the next day, and gave it four stars. Then, I ended up grabbing Alex, Approximately at Target for eight bucks. So, naturally I neglect all of my other books and just read that one. I ended up really liking it, and gave it four stars. But, alas, things took a turn for the worse when I picked up Never Too Far, and read it in a single sitting. I will have a rant/review up next week, and hopefully that will explain the whopping one star I gave it. To give you a hint, a lot of readers were talking about how sexy and awesome one of the MCs was, when I though that he was being borderline abusive. There will be rants, so come prepared (and bring some popcorn).

-BOOKS I HAVE ACQUIRED-
Alex, Approximately Never Too Far (Too Far, #2)
I bought Alex, Approximately; Never Too Far was from the library.

-CURRENTLY READING-
Curse of Stars (Diamond Crier #1)Feed (Newsflesh Trilogy, #1)The Bone Witch (The Bone Witch, #1)A Court of Wings and Ruin (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #3)

We're down to four!

  1. Glad it was a great reading week! Sometimes quiet weeks are the best. And Alex, Approximately seems to be getting lots of good reviews. I added that one, it just sounds good.

Rant reviews are always fun, so looking forward to that. Have a super week!

  4. That's a great reading week - and I'm with you regarding bullying, controlling male protagonists in romances - I hate reading about them. It's not romantic, it's abusive - and far too many women get sucked into toxic relationships where they end up feeling inadequate and unhappy because they've been conned into thinking they are useless! There.. that's my rant over! I love the look of The Bone Witch and am keen to read your thoughts on it. Have another great reading week, Anna:). Can't wait to see what you make of Bone Witch (on my TBR) and ACOWAR (loved that series).

  9. An uneventful week sounds amazing right about now! I'm worn out from a week with two kids! Hopefully I won't have anything going on this week so I can catch up! :)
