Book Review #3

Trust Me I'm Lying
(Trust Me #1)
By: Mary Elizabeth Summer

Julep Dupree tells lies. A lot of them. She’s a con artist, a master of disguise, and a sophomore at Chicago’s swanky St. Agatha High, where her father, an old-school grifter with a weakness for the ponies, sends her to so she can learn to mingle with the upper crust. For extra spending money Julep doesn’t rely on her dad—she runs petty scams for her classmates while dodging the dean of students and maintaining an A+ (okay, A-) average.

But when she comes home one day to a ransacked apartment and her father gone, Julep’s carefully laid plans for an expenses-paid golden ticket to Yale start to unravel. Even with help from St. Agatha’s resident Prince Charming, Tyler Richland, and her loyal hacker sidekick, Sam, Julep struggles to trace her dad’s trail of clues through a maze of creepy stalkers, hit attempts, family secrets, and worse, the threat of foster care. With everything she has at stake, Julep’s in way over her head . . . but that’s not going to stop her from using every trick in the book to find her dad before his mark finds her. Because that would be criminal.

What can I say about this book... it was awesome! This book was like a mixture of Marvels Agents of Shield and Leverage. There were so many twists and turns and I was thoroughly enjoyed. So the main character, Julep, I really liked her. She was not whiny, the thought everything out, and she thought of others and not just herself. I don't like whiny characters. Now, there is kinda of a love triangle. :/ I know... I my self would not really consider it a love triangle. I like though how it isn't a main point of the story. I HATE it when the love triangle is the main focus of the story.
I give this book...
I really liked it
This is book one in a duology. Book two comes out October 13, 2015. I will defiantly be reading the second book when it comes out.

Cover of the Week #1

The Silence of Six
By E.C. Myers

The reason I chose this cover is because it connects with the story so well. Also it
looks really cool. All of the numbers in the background really add a creepy
feeling. If you don't know, The Silence of Six is about a group of hackers

The Lunar Chronicles #4
By: Marissa Meyer
Winter (The Lunar Chronicles, #4)
Princess Winter is admired by the Lunar people for her grace and kindness, and despite the scars that mar her face, her beauty is said to be even more breathtaking than that of her stepmother, Queen Levana.
Winter despises her stepmother, and knows Levana won't approve of her feelings for her childhood friend--the handsome palace guard, Jacin. But Winter isn't as weak as Levana believes her to be and she's been undermining her stepmother's wishes for years. Together with the cyborg mechanic, Cinder, and her allies, Winter might even have the power to launch a revolution and win a war that's been raging for far too long.
Can Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, and Winter defeat Levana and find their happily ever afters? Fans will not want to miss this thrilling conclusion to Marissa Meyer's national bestelling Lunar Chronicles series.

I am a big fan of this series. This series got me into reading fairy tale retelling. Also... LOOK AT THAT COVER!!! IT IS BEAUTIFUL!!! I WANT IT NOW!!!!! Sadly it comes out around November 2015. I cant wait, everyone banning together! It is going to be epic.

Book Review #2

Her Dark Curiosity
The Madman's Daughter #2

Inspired by The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, this tantalizing sequel to Megan Shepherd's gothic suspense novel The Madman's Daughter explores the hidden natures of those we love and how far we'll go to save them from themselves. Perfect for fans of Libba Bray.
Back in London after her trip to Dr. Moreau's horrific island, Juliet is rebuilding the life she once knew and trying to forget her father's legacy. But soon it's clear that someone—or something—hasn't forgotten her, as people close to Juliet start falling victim to a murderer who leaves a macabre calling card of three clawlike slashes. Has one of her father's creations also escaped the island?
Her Dark Curiosity (The Madman's Daughter, #2)
Just to preface, I am going to write a paragraph in red after this. That paragraph WILL HAVE SPOILERS!!!! Just to let you know. In regards to second book syndrome, this book was not bad. There was one major problem I had with this book. The first fourth of the book was kinda slow for me. Other than that...
  • Darkness: Good Amount
  • Suspense: yes
  • Romance:yes
  • worth reading?: If you liked the first book, yes
My Rating?
I really liked it.

OMG! Edward! I mean I suspected he was coming back from the summary. I did not think she would sleep with him! Then Montgomery came back and the love triangle came back. What ever happened just having a bunch of guy- friends and no relationship? Is it just me or are you the same. I really liked how we got to see more of the beast. Edward is really The Beast AND Edward in the same body. It is actually kinda sad because I like Edward, just not the beast. Then Montgomery came back and whoopee- do!! I like Montgomery, I want her to end up with him, but I don't think that will happen. I do think that Juliet will turn into her own version of the beast. What do you think will happen in the next book? What did you think of this book? Let me know!!

The Leveller
The  Leveller #1

Nixy Bauer is a self-made Leveller. Her job? Dragging kids out of virtual reality and back to their parents in the real world. It’s normally easy cash, but Nixy’s latest mission is fraught with real danger, intrigue, and romance.

Nixy Bauer is used to her classmates being very, very unhappy to see her. After all, she’s a bounty hunter in a virtual reality gaming world. Kids in the MEEP, as they call it, play entirely with their minds, while their bodies languish in a sleeplike state on the couch. Irritated parents, looking to wrench their kids back to reality, hire Nixy to jump into the game and retrieve them.

But when the game’s billionaire developer loses track of his own son in the MEEP, Nixy is in for the biggest challenge of her bounty-hunting career. Wyn Salvador isn’t some lazy kid looking to escape his homework: Wyn does not want to be found. And he’s left behind a suicide note. Nixy takes the job but quickly discovers that Wyn’s not hiding—he’s being held inside the game against his will. But who is holding him captive, and why?

Nixy and Wyn attempt to fight their way out of a mind game unlike any they’ve encountered, and the battle brings them closer than either could have imagined. But when the whole world is virtual, how can Nixy possibly know if her feelings are real?

Gamers and action fans of all types will dive straight into the MEEP, thanks to Julia Durango’s cinematic storytelling. A touch of romance adds some heart to Nixy’s vivid, multidimensional journey through Wyn’s tricked-out virtual city, and constant twists keep readers flying through to the breathtaking end.

Book Review #1

The Lunar Chronicles #3.5

"Mirror, mirror on the wall,
Who is the fairest of them all?"

Waring: Spoilers may happen in this

Wow, I don't know if it is because this book got really good reviews. or if it just me, but... I thought it was okay. I was nice to see Levana before Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress. My one big problem is that the whole book, it kept coming back to the guy who she was convinced that she loved. I wish that we got even more into her family, (mainly her sister). One of the big things in this book is we found out more about Winter. We got to see all the stages of her life. We also got to see how she attempted to kill Selene. Which was nice to see, kind of. Another big thing was we got to see that Luna actually made the deadly virus. Great tactic in my opinion. With all of this, I think that there was to much romance and not enough political rulings tie ins. My final verdict...

 2.5/ 5 Points

So tell me, where will your next adventure be?
