The Weekly Recap: The One in Which I Became Four Times Less Wise (Week of 7/1/18)

I'm linking up with Kimberly who blogs at The Caffeinated Book Reviewer for The Sunday Post. The Sunday Post is a weekly meme where all us bloggers talk about our week in reading, what books we got, and what's coming up in the week ahead. I'm also linking up with Book Photo Sundays hosted by Rabbit Ears Book Blog, a weekly meme where we share our favorite photos of the week.

My Life
As you may have guessed from the post title, I got my wisdom teeth out this week. It was time, they were growing in sideways, and honestly I just wanted to get it over with. So on Friday my mom (thanks mom) drove me to get all four of my wisdom teeth extracted. I was really great for the first hour after I woke up (mostly from still being wonky off of the drugs they gave me), and that's how we got gems like this...

On top of that I realized shortly after my mom got a call from the doctor that he used the long lasting numbing stuff on my mouth, meaning that I was not able to feel or properly move my mouth until one in the morning. To put that in perspective my appointment was at eleven in the morning. That was rough.

Other than that I don't really have much to report. I basically just stayed home for the Fourth of July and worked. Nothing too terribly exciting. However this week I gotta head back to the teaching hospital for another appointment. Only one this time, but still, gotta hate that drive. But, until next week, happy reading!

What I Read
Didn't have anytime to read this week, and I probably won't have much time next week either since I gotta head back to the teaching hospital to check in with a doctor.

Books I Have Acquired
Nothing this week. Look at how good I was! :)

What's Happening This Week?
This week I'm gonna be talking about five reasons poetry has become a favorite of mine, and I might get a review up if I have time (but I'm making no promises).

Before you Go...

Question of the Week
Do you prefer to cook your meals, or eat out? Let me know in the comments below. :)

  1. Wow, all four at once. Go you. I had two out at a time, and then the other two later, and it was surprisingly not bad- the one guy just literally yanked them out, he was either really good or they were just easy to get to, IDK. I had heard horror stories. Hope yours wan't too bad pain wise. That is such a weird feeling when your mouth is numb like that lol.

Let's see, I mostly like to eat out although if it's something I really like (and can make) it's fun to make it at home. Sometimes. :)

Hope you have a good week.

    1. Yeah, I'm the kind of person that does everything at once just to get it over with. Yeah, I thought that it was surprisingly easy as well. Have a good week! :)

  2. Definitely homecooked food! Even though food might taste better outside, I can't eat more than twice within a few days. My parents might allow but I ask for home food. Plus I have a lot of allergies. Not food but consequently some foods worsen my allergies so I prefer to not overdo it.

    1. Yeah, sometimes it's best to know what you're eating. Overdoing it can be very bad.

  3. Oh my goodness! I've NEVER heard of having all four extracted at the same time! No wonder he used the long-lasting painkillers. I hope you are recovering well and now at least they won't be giving any more trouble - never mind about all that wisdom you've lost. No more hassle from them:)). Have a better week and I hope the checkup goes well, Anna:)

  4. Doesn't sound like much fun, but at least you have the teeth out now!

  5. Oh man, 4 wisdom teeth at once? That's insane. Hopefully you'll feel a lot better with them out.

I also haven't read much/anything this week. Life just keeps getting in the way!

  6. Ahhh, poetry. Is that your current craving (like, you know, cravings for a genre once in a while) or do you always loved poetry and I didn't know that so I look like a complete idiot right now XD. I am DREADING wisdom teeth removal phase. I don't know if I'll need mine removed, I haven't reached the age yet, but I've heard so much about it and I'm TERRIFIED. Happy reading and have a great week!

    1. Oh don't be terrified! It really isn't too bad. The worst part is having your mouth numb for so long.

I think that the whole poetry this is a mix of both? Cause like I'm totally craving it, and I don't see it stopping anytime soon.

      Have a good week! :)

  7. Ouch! I had two of my wisdom teeth out a couple of years ago and it wasn't fun. We don't get knocked out though unless we go to the hospital for the procedure. If your dentist does it in the UK, all they can do is completely numb your face. Some metal blaring through the headphones blocks out the noises and you're good. ;)
    Wishing you a speedy healing!

  8. Wisdom teeth...yeah I'm not looking forward to when it's my time to deal with them :/ I personally prefer cooked meals but I don't usually cook, as I live at home it's usually my mum who cooks, eating out is kinda expensive too xD Hope you have a great week :)

  9. Ughh I had my wisdom teeth out long ago and OMG that hurt. Not only that but I received for my troubles a HUGE bruise on the side of my face. Never want to do that again. Love your bookstagram pics!

Have a wonderful week and feel better.

  10. I’m glad the wisdom teeth surgery went well. Mine was . . . not great. I got all 4 out at the same time. I guess I swallowed a lot of blood during the surgery because I threw up blood all over my dad’s car like a horror movie.

    1. Oof, that is rough. I'm sorry that happened to you, that must have been very scary. I was told I didn't bleed much, so luckily nothing like that happened to me. Have a good week! :)

  11. Oh wisdom teeth removal!! Glad you are okay. Mine never erupted so my dentist never pushed me to have them removed. Whew! I do NOT do well with the dentist!

  12. Oh you poor dear, all four out at once is rough! In the long run you'll be thankful though that you won't have to go through that again. Usually if they're taking two at a time, they'll give you a general and there's lots of bruising too. I hope you're recovering well sweetheart and have plenty of fantastic reads to keep you going ♡♡♡
