#COYER Summer Reading Sign Up (This Time it's Organized)

COYER

It's that time again! Grab your sunscreen snooze button, your picnic baskets frozen TV dinners, and your favorite books, because it's time for COYER Summer Vacation! COYER is hosted by Berls, who is over at Fantasy is More Fun, Stormi, who writes at Books, Movies, Reviews, Oh My!, and the lady who came up with this summer's theme, Michelle, from Because Reading. Here is a little excerpt from the sign up post on the official COYER website about this summer's rules.

"There is two ways to do it this time….

  1. The first is just COYER. READ ALL THE BOOKS. That’s right…this time around you can read whatever. Any price, any format as long as it is acquired legally. From the start of the challenge to the end just read/ review as much as possible. Super Simple.
  2. Summer Reading List….This way has a read-a-thon that goes with it. I will explain it all below…follow me to the rules.

Rules

  1. Challenge starts on June 17th Midnight (your time zone) and ends September 8th. Review link closes on September 9th.
  2. You can read any format of book; Ebook, Physical, Audio, KU, Library, Borrowed, etc.
  3. You must create a sign-up post anytime between now and August 1st on blog, goodreads, fb, google+, etc.Yes, that means you can sign up until August 1st! Make sure to state whether you are doing the regular COYER or the Summer Reading List
  4. You must link that sign-up post below (don’t link to your blog, link to the sign-up post).
  5. You must review books somewhere & link the reviews to the review linky to be eligible for one of the two grand prize giveaways.
  6. If you want to join the Summer Reading List. Make a list in a Goodreads Shelf or your Blog of 30 books that you want to read. You must pick 30 and you must link it in your sign-up. This is your summer reading list (you do NOT have to read all 30 books, don’t panic) (the books added to your list must be books that you already have)
  7. You have from now until June 17th to make the list, when COYER starts you can not change the list. For every 5 books you read, you can add 5 more to the list (this is for all you mood readers). You can read as much as you want from the list. If you only read one, that is totally fine you can enter the giveaway at the end stating you only read one.
  8. The last grand prize giveaway will be how many books you read from your list. The giveaway widget will have levels of books with points the more you read from your list the better chance you have at winning.
  9. Have Fun!"

Sound fun? This summer I will be attempting challenge number two, and I will be making a list of the books that I will be reading, and there are a couple reasons why. One, I fell behind in my reading challenge. If you didn't know, I've been facing some health problems these past couple weeks, and that put a damper on my reading. Also, I AM VERY LATE ON ALL OF MY ARCs. Whoops. Hopefully I will chug through them this summer.

I will be making my list, and adjusting it all the way up until the start date. So, you can check out where my list will be here. There isn't much on it right now, but I'm hoping to fix that soon! I figure that I will add books, and actually have a finalized list a day or two before the readathon. I'm hoping that I do well this time, especially considering that I spectacularly failed the winter challenge.

Are you participating this summer? What books are on your list? Or are you not using a list? Let me know in the comments! :)

  1. This sounds like a lot of fun, but I don't think I'll participate this time! I want to work on creating a good balance between books I want to read RIGHT NOW and books from way back when. :-) Good luck!

    1. You can still participate! There is an option where you can just read all of the books, or you could put a mixture of both on your list. :)

    2. I know, I just don't want to put any pressure on my reading for this summer! Thanks for inviting me. :-)
